The majority of marketers worldwide think that video marketing is the content creation that creates the highest ROI? Pretty cool right?

However, if you have ever gone to Youtube, you can tell that while there are a ton of videos the quality is….let’s say hit or miss.

This is especially true when you look at industrial video marketing. If I have to hear one more CEO droning on about his company, I will claw my eyes out.

Well probably not, that does seem a bit dramatic. Ok, I will be bummed out and forced to eat a sundae to recover. I dislike poorly done videos.

Most marketing videos have a pretty standard format. With more and more videos being produced and put online, how can you stand out?

The key is to have a  video marketing premise that is unique.

We have mentioned before the last thing that we need is another staid commercial that introduces a company's CEO. Not to say that you can’t introduce the CEO, but don’t have them in a chair in a boardroom staring at the camera.

Think of it this way. When there were only three channels in the 1950’s, anything produced that showed a modicum of talent was a hit. Now compare that to today. Some of the best shows are on AMC, HBO, and Netflix. There is a ton of competition. The way to survive is to have excellent programming.

Repeat after me. Your Company is not Your Product. Again, Your Company is not Your Product

I think that a lot of enterprises have a problem when making a corporate video. They want to talk about their products (and did I mentions that your company is not your product).

Your company is your brand. And your brand is everything about your business. How you answer the phone, your font, your invoices.

Everything. So why not make your corporate videos about your brand?

That is why I am so confused when people want to make a corporate video that is….well just about a product. Not to say that a video shouldn't be about your product.

But not your first video. And maybe not your second or third video either.
